2) Shaping the crown.

Once the felt is workable, the crown is shaped first, starting with a centered crease that will act as a guide to keep everything aligned with the wearer’s face. From there, the shape is built outward, forming the side dimples and defining the crown style using controlled hand pressure from both inside and outside the hat.
